PCAC Annual Meeting
| The PCAC Annual June meeting was held at Zandri’s Stillwood Inn in Hamden on June 29, 2011. During the annual meeting, those officers who have been elected to office and to the Board of Directors, and those whose terms were renewed through membership vote, are sworn in and commence their terms of office. This year Jill Marcus (Branford), past President of the PCAC, assumed her new title as Chairman. Peter Torrano (Norwalk) is the newly elected President. Joining the Chairman and President are Willie Pabon (New Britain) as 1st Vice President; Christopher Cozzi (North Branford) 2nd Vice President; Marvin Gelfand (Easton) as Treasurer; Tom Heavren (Berlin) Assistant Treasurer; John Landolfi (North Branford) Sergeant-at-Arms; Scott Bates (Stonington) Board Member; Arthur Hersh (Fairfield) Board Member; Dan O’Connor (Norwalk) Board Member; and Lisa Yarbor (West Haven) Board Member. The swearing in of the new officers was performed by Bernie McLoughlin, outgoing Chairman of the Board of Directors. The new Board of Directors and their officers are looking forward to a productive year acting on behalf of Police Commissioners and Police Departments throughout the state. Also, during the meeting, the membership body voted in favor of a revision to the PCAC By-Laws.  Newly installed Chairman Jill Marcus and President Peter Torrano (L) present a plaque of appreciation to outgoing Chairman Bernie McLoughlin for his efforts and good works on behalf of the Police Commissioners Association of Connecticut. Bernie has held the office of President and Chairman and in those capacities, has led our Association with wisdom and diplomacy.
 Newly elected President Peter Torrano takes the podium to greet and welcome all in attendance and to thank the membership for accepting and supporting the new Board of Directors.
 Jill Marcus being sworn in to her new office as Chairman by Bernie McLoughlin. Jill has held the office of 2nd and 1st Vice President, President and now Chairman.  Bernie McLoughlin, wishing the new Chairman Jill Marcus and the new 1st Vice President Willie Pabon, success in the coming year.  2nd Vice President Chris Cozzi is sworn in to his new office. Chris previously held the office of Sergeant-at-Arms and has been a Board Member for several productive years.  John Landolfi is shown being sworn in to his new office as Sergeant-at-Arms. John had previously been a Board Member serving several years.
 Willie Pabon is being sworn in to his new position as 1st Vice President of the PCAC. Willie had previously held office as the 2nd Vice President. Prior to holding these offices, Willie was a member of the Board of Directors.  Bernie McLoughlin swears in the new PCAC Treasurer, Marvin Gelfand (CPA). Marvin is new to the Board of Directors and has already made a major impact through his expertise.  Arthur Hersh, Fairfield Commissioner, is one of the new members of the Board of Directors. Arthur is shown with Bernie McLoughlin during his swearing in ceremony.  Returning Board Member Lisa Yarbor is being sworn in, continuing her service to the PCAC. Lisa has been a Board Member for several years and has previously held the office of Treasurer. She is active on various PCAC committees.  Bernie McLoughlin, outgoing Chairman, swears in new Board Member Dan O'Connor, a Norwalk Police Commissioner.  Peter Torrano, previous 1st Vice President, is being sworn into his new office as President of the PCAC. Peter has held the office of Sergeant-at-Arms, 2nd and 1st Vice President, and has been a member of the Board of Directors for several years. |
